The Weekly Hill Update

Below is this week’s congressional update by BakerHostetler’s Federal Policy team. We’ll continue to post in weeks when both chambers of Congress are in session.

HEADLINES

• Congressional Republicans are trying to finalize reconciliation legislation and separately extend Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Section 702 authority.
• President Donald Trump will attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
• The Congressional Baseball Game is scheduled for Wednesday.

HOUSE

• The House will hold floor votes tonight through Thursday, including on final passage of budget reconciliation legislation to fund immigration enforcement.
• The Science, Space, and Technology Committee will host Secretary of Energy Chris Wright on Wednesday.
• The Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing tomorrow on digital asset taxation.

• The Senate is struggling to reauthorize FISA Section 702.
• Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins will testify Wednesday before the Agriculture Committee.
• The Banking Committee will hold a hearing Thursday titled “AI and the American Dream.”

WHITE HOUSE

• Trump will attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals tonight at Madison Square Garden.
• The White House faces a renewed challenge in the Middle East with Israel and Iran exchanging missile fire.
• Sunday, Trump will host a UFC fight at the White House.
