Both chambers are set to take up the annual Defense policy legislation before departing for the holidays.

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine will visit the White House and the Capitol, pleading for additional aid to support Ukraine’s fight against Russia.

The House will hold floor <a href="https://www.majorityleader.gov/schedule/weekly-schedule.htm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">votes</a> tonight through Thursday, including the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (<a href="https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20231211/FY24%20NDAA%20Conference%20Report%20-%20%20FINAL.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NDAA</a>) and a <a href="https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20231211/BILLS-118hres918ih.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">resolution</a> formalizing an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

The Financial Services Capital Markets Subcommittee will hold a <a href="https://financialservices.house.gov/calendar/eventsingle.aspx?EventID=409069" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hearing</a> tomorrow with self-regulatory organizations.

Also tomorrow, the Foreign Affairs Oversight Subcommittee will hold a <a href="https://foreignaffairs.house.gov/hearing/reviewing-the-bureau-of-industry-and-security-part-ii-u-s-export-controls-in-an-era-of-strategic-competition/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hearing</a> with Commerce Department officials on export controls.

The Senate is scheduled to be in <a href="https://www.senate.gov/legislative/floor_activity_pail.htm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">session</a> today through Thursday, also voting on the NDAA.

Tomorrow, Zelensky will attend an all-senators <a href="https://punchbowl.news/archive/121123-punchbowl-news-am/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">meeting</a>, before meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Thursday, the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee will hold a <a href="https://www.help.senate.gov/hearings/what-is-fueling-the-diabetes-epidemic" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hearing</a> on diabetes.

Biden is in <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/politics/biden-philadelphia-firefighters-funding-visit-20231210.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Philadelphia</a> today to tout his support for firefighters, and will return to <a href="https://www.forth.news/whpool/6576833f425d55750524ccef" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">celebrate</a> a Hanukkah reception at the White House this evening.

Tomorrow, Biden will <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/12/10/statement-from-press-secretary-karine-jean-pierre-on-the-visit-of-president-volodymyr-zelenskyy-of-ukraine/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">host</a> Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to “underscore the United States’&nbsp;unshakeable&nbsp;commitment to supporting the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against Russia’s brutal invasion.”

Wednesday, the president will speak at the President’s <a href="https://www.cisa.gov/resources-tools/groups/presidents-national-infrastructure-advisory-council-niac" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">National Infrastructure Advisory Council</a> meeting.
